Abhinav Bharati
Bal Mandir was founded on 20th August
1945 with three teachers and a handful
of seventeen students.
Sri Radhakrishna Nevatia generously
allowed the school to carry on its activities
on the 3rd floor of his residence at
32 Hari Ram Goenka Street.
To carry out the activities of Bal Mandir,
a working committee was formed by Sri
Sitaranji Sekusaria. The school activities
were carried on under the leadership
of Srimati Gyanwati Lath.
Sri Pratap Rai Yagyik and his learned
wife Srimathi Brajeshben Yagyik with
immense dedication nurtured the school
towards the path of progress. Both being
educated at Shantineketan firmly believed
that the overall personality of a student
can develop with the inclusion of cultural
activities which play a vital role.
Thus, right from its inception, the
school has catered to Music, fine arts,
dance, Drama considering it to be an
indispensable part of education.
In the year 1947, with the immense support
of Late Sri Hanumanbaksji Nemani, the
school premises at 11 Pretoria Street
was purchased.
On 20th August 1952, classes began in
the newly constructed building at 11
Pretoria Street. In 1968, the auditorium
“Gyan Manch” was under construction.
Today, Abhinav Bharati High School is
a full fledged CBSE affiliated education
institution with classes from the Montesorri
Level to the Senior Secondary Level,
